Irene Piki serves as Deputy Minister to the President of the Republic of Cyprus. An economist by background, she holds a degree in Economics from the University of Reading and an MSc in Environmental and Natural Resources Economics from University College London (UCL). Since joining the public service in 1997, she has built an extensive career in economic policy, European affairs, reforms, investment, and innovation. She played an active role in Cyprus’ EU accession process and has held several senior positions within the Ministry of Finance, including Financial Director and Head of the Directorate of Economic Policy and European Affairs. Throughout her career, she has represented Cyprus in numerous European committees and has served on the boards of key national organizations focused on investment, innovation, and competitiveness.
