Prior to her current role, she served for four years as Head of the Economic Diplomacy Department at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. She previously spent ten years at the Directorate-General for Growth of the Ministry of Finance, working on European economic and regional policy, as well as research and innovation.
As part of her government service, she was seconded for four years to the Permanent Representation of Cyprus to the European Union in Brussels. During Cyprus’s first Presidency of the Council of the European Union in 2012, she chaired the EU Trade Policy Committee for Services and Investment.
Earlier in her career, she worked at PwC Cyprus.
Irene holds an MSc in Business Analysis and Finance from the University of Leicester and a BSc in Economics from the University of Cyprus.
